Who we are

DubSelector ("we", "us") runs dubselector.app, a platform where hosts (DJs and streamers) receive and review music submitted by artists. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: privacy@dubselector.app.

What we collect

  • Artists who submit music: artist name, email address, track title, track links or uploaded audio, optional message and Instagram handle, ratings and votes your tracks receive.
  • Account holders (hosts and artists): username, display name, email, profile picture, sign-in details.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the payment status and amount, never your full card details.
  • Listeners and visitors: the name you enter on promo pages, plus basic usage data (pages viewed, plays, downloads).

How we use it

  • To deliver your submission to the host and run the live queue, ratings, leaderboards and stats (performance of our contract with you).
  • To process payments, refunds and host payouts (contract and legal obligation).
  • To send service emails such as sign-in links and receipts.
  • To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).

Sharing your details with hosts

When you submit a track to a host, that host can see your artist name, email address, track, message and Instagram handle, and may download a list of the artists who have submitted to them.

Hosts are independent controllers of the details they download. If a host emails you (for example to say they have gone live), they are responsible for having a lawful basis, including your consent where required, and must include a way to unsubscribe. You can ask any host to stop contacting you, or contact us and we will help.

Other recipients

We use trusted service providers to run DubSelector: cloud hosting and database, Stripe for payments, and email delivery. They process data only on our instructions. Some providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Uploaded audio files are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Submission records, ratings and stats are kept while your account or the host's account is active, or until you ask us to delete them. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires (usually 6 years).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@dubselector.app and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use only the essential storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your details on submission forms. We do not use advertising cookies.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be shown on this page with a new date.
